We are Julius and Sandra Russell, Directors of Another Chance At Recovery, a sober living recovery house. We are a 501(c)3, non-profit organization.
We support the individualized needs of those we serve emotionally, mentally, physically, sociably, vocationally, and spiritually.
We are also a six (6) to twelve (18) month reentry program. The program is designed for men and women in transition from incarceration and/or SUD (Substance Use Disorders). We aim to help them with their basic needs, build up the whole person, and guide them to successfully return to their families/communities while encouraging them to build a foundation of long-term recovery and lower recidivism rates.
We have mandatory meetings that they must attend, outside (3) and (1) in-house. They must find a sponsor/mentor or accountability partner within the first 30 days. We provide resources and referrals to various agencies, according to their needs.
ACAR provides a clean, structured, stable environment. We have morning meditation groups, one-on-one peer consultations, and Peer group meetings. We also do community service. We provide daily or monthly bus passes at no cost to them. We do random drug screening and report the results when needed. We assist with health/mental care needs and guide them through any legal/judicial issues they may have.
Each person is responsible for their food, personal toiletries, and transportation. Our purpose is to meet each person where they are in life, help deal with issues, assist them with affordable housing, build a foundation of long-term recovery, and become productive members of society.
In Loving Service,
Directors,
